Gabby – Hello. My name is Gabby. I am a nine year old, female, fawn
brushcoat. I am quite embarrassed about my weight. I presently weigh 84 pounds.
It is not easy carrying all that weight around, but the nice people at the
rescue told me that they know how to get dogs back in shape. Boy, and do they
ever! I am on a diet, I get only low fat treats and they give them sparingly. I
am going for little walks to build me back up again. They call it my “daily work
out”. The nice volunteers keep telling me I am doing really good and I will soon
have my “girlish” figure back again. I am also told by everyone that I am such
a sweet, sweet girl. I have a tail wag for every person that meets me. I was
pretty sad about becoming homeless. My owners took me to a shelter because they
were moving. Moving! So why couldn’t they take me along! I was in a huff about
that and then I became sad, too. I gave them nine years of my life. I guarded
them while they were sleeping and greeted them when they came home. I did
everything a dog is supposed to do as “Man’s Best Friend”, but they still threw
me away at nine years of age. Well, things are looking up because the volunteers
at O.S. said they WILL find me a “FOREVER HOME”. They are very serious about
that. Well, here I am, eating low fat food and taking little walks to get back
in shape. I hope someone out there finds it in their heart to offer me a
wonderful home where I will be loved and appreciated for what I have to offer.
Give a call and ask for me, Gabby. Oh, boy! Gotta go! I hear someone removing
the lid to the cookie jar. Time for a low fat treat!!! |

Geah - Hello. My name is Geah. I am a very sweet two year old, female
fawn horsecoat. I am shy at first but I warm up very quickly to people who treat
me kindly. I am gentle, quiet and very lonely. I miss having a family to love
me. I came from New Jersey to Operation Scarlet because my home burned down and
the nice lady that I lived with lost everything. I was also with a male Shar-Pei
who was my best buddy. My owner is moving south to live with her children and is
taking my canine friend with her. Unfortunately, she could not take both of us.
I miss my nice lady and my Shar-Pei friend, but I am very glad that we all got
out safely. You see, I was in the house when it was burning. A very nice lady
drove me from New Jersey to PA so that I would be safe at Operation Scarlet
until I found a new home. If you are looking for a very sweet and gentle dog
that will be your forever friend, please give the rescue a call and ask for me,
Geah. I would be forever grateful. |

Ghengis. I know the name sounds very big and powerful, but I am actually a
very small guy. I am about 3 years old and I am an apricot dilute horsecoat.
I was taken to a shelter in PA by my owners. I was so sad because I really
loved my family. I am very quiet and quite well behaved. I promise to be no
trouble at all and will love you with all my heart if just given another
chance. I am waiting patiently for the right family to come along and say -
"We want Ghengis"! |

Ginger a very happy little girl. |

Ginger V - Hello, everyone. My name is
Ginger. I am a female, cream brushcoat and I am about 2 to 3 years old. I am
one of the 21 Shar-Pei taken from a condemned house. I have a very sweet
temperament and I like to be with other dogs. I really enjoy children too. I
miss my canine friends that I had lived with. We all became quite good
friends and now we are scattered far and wide. I would really like to have a
family that would really love and appreciate me. I also hope that my new
family would have another dog since I really do like canine companionship.
If you are in search of a really sweet little dog that loves to cuddle, call
the rescue and ask for me - Ginger. |

Godiva - Female, chocolate brushcoat.
Godiva came from a shelter in Georgia in 2001. Her special "forever home"
is in Philadelphia, PA. Thank you Mike and Angela for opening your hearts
and home to sweet, little Godiva. |

Grace - Hello. My name is Grace. I was
rescued along with 20 other Shar-Pei that were taken from a condemned house.
I am a fawn brushcoat and I am about two years old. The kind people who are
fostering me call me Amazing Grace because when I was rescued I also had
seven 3-week old puppies to take care of. I have been an excellent mommy,
but now my puppies are old enough to be placed in homes. I will certainly
miss them, but I will also be very happy to know that they will be going to
loving homes and will be given excellent care. Now that my work is done
taking care of my pups, I am also looking for a family who will love me and
give me really good care as I did with my own pups. If you are looking for a
very well behaved, gentle girl, please call the rescue and ask for me -
Grace. |

Greta (formerly known as Sheba) - Hi! My name is Sheba. I am
approximately one year old and I am a red brushcoat
Pei mix. I was rescued from a shelter in NJ. I was a stray and hung out
at the shelter until a member of O.S. could pick me up. I was roaming the
streets of NJ and feeling very sad and lonely. Then along came Stacy, an
O.S. member, and told me to hop in her car. She told me not to worry or
be scared and that I was going to a rescue in PA. We were getting along
just fine and then she stopped the car and told me that I now had to hop
into another car to finish the last part of my trip. I then met John and
Paula and they took me right to Operation Scarlet’s door. Being at the
rescue is not so bad because we get two meals a day, nice soft blankets to
sleep on and I even have my very own chew bone. There
are other Shar-Pei in the room, so it does not get lonely. We all
sit around and share our homeless stories. Boy, some of the stories are
really sad. We perk up in a hurry when the volunteers stop by to take us
for walks and then we get really good treats. It is nice here at the
rescue, but I really, really, really want my very own home. I am
extremely friendly and love meeting people and other dogs. If you think
you would like to have me as your very own friend and companion, please
get in touch with the people at O.S. Remember to ask for Sheba. That’s
me!!! |
