Maddy - Hi! My name is Maddy. I am a
female, black brushcoat and I am two years old. I came from a shelter in PA. |
 |
Magic - Male, black brushcoat. He was a
stray rescued by the New York Animal Care and Control Center in Manhattan.
He now lives in Harrisburg, PA |
 |
Maggie III - Female, chocolate brushcoat. She came
to Operation Scarlet from West Virginia, and she now
lives in New Holland, PA. |
 |
Maggie IV - Female, fawn horsecoat. Maggie was an
owner surrender from Kentucky and is now living in York,
PA. Thank you Elmo for adopting her. |
 |
Maggie Mae - Female, 5 point red horsecoat. She
came with a broken pelvis. She now lives in Elizabethtown
PA. |
 |
Magoo II - Hello. My name is Magoo. I am
a very handsome male, cream horsecoat and I am six years old. My owners took
me to a shelter in Pennsylvania because they were moving. My feelings were
certainly hurt by their decision to discard me because I was always such a
devoted and well behaved dog and never gave them any trouble. I would be
ever so grateful if a nice family would open their hearts and home to me. If
you are in search of a dog that is well behaved, intelligent, and loyal,
give O.S. a call and ask for Magoo. I will be waiting by the phone! |
 |
Maisy aka Cocco - Female, cream
horsecoat. Maisy was rescued from a shelter in Georgia in 1999. She is now
enjoying her new life in Yutan, Nebraska along with two other O.S. rescued
Shar-Pei. Thank you Jean and Mary Anne for again opening your hearts and
home to another Shar-Pei in need of love. Maisy is a very lucky girl to
have found you. |
 |
Manny - Hello. My name is Manny. I am a
small male, black horsecoat and I am about 2 years old. I was abandoned by
my owner. I would keep turning up on the doorstep where a very nice lady
lived. I was hoping that she would take me in or help me find a home. She
was concerned about my welfare and contacted Operation Scarlet. I am very
well behaved and nothing seems to upset me. Not even a vet appointment. I
sat nicely on the examining table and gave everyone kisses. I am quiet,
crate trained and housebroken. Oh, by the way, I really like dog biscuits
and I do sit very nicely when I am offered a biscuit. |
 |
Marcus - Male fawn horsecoat, 1-2 yrs old. He was
a stray from Montgomery County SPCA. He now lives in
Quarryville PA. |
 |
Marshall - Hi, folks! My name is
Marshall. I am a male, fawn horsecoat. I was a stray and came from a shelter
in New Jersey. The nice lady that works at the shelter drove me to Operation
Scarlet. I rode in the car with her little pug and we had a good time
together. I am a bit shy at first until I get to know people, but when I am
sure that people are not going to hurt me, I am a very playful dog. I do
lots of play bows and just have a really good time. Being lost is not much
fun. It is difficult finding food, and when night time comes, there is no
comfy bed to snuggle in. The people at O.S. are really nice to me, but what
I am really hoping for is to find a very special family that will love me
and give me the care that I long for. If I sound like the kind of guy you
would like to have as your best friend, give O.S. a call and ask for me,
Marshall!

 |
Mason II - Male, red fawn brushcoat.
Mason was rescued from a shelter in New Jersey in 2002. He is now enjoying
his new home and family in Palmyra, PA. Thank you Deborah, George and
children for giving Mason that much needed second chance at life. He will
always be grateful for your kindess. |
 |
Max V - Male, red fawn brushcoat. Max was
rescued from a shelter in Pennsylvania in 2002. He is now in his "forever"
home in Lancaster, PA. Thank you David and Duffy for giving Max that very
important second chance. You have made him one happy fellow and he will
always remain your loyal and devoted friend. |

 |
Maxi - Howdy! My name is Maxi. I am a black brushcoat male and I am about one year old. My muzzle is definitely a meatmouth. It is very, very full. I have a beautiful shiny coat and I have a great disposition. I came from a shelter in PA. My Shar-Pei friend, Velvet, was also taken to the shelter by our owners. We don’t even know why we lost our home. They did not give a reason. We thought we were being very good and we always greeted them when they came home. We loved being with them. I guess they did not feel the same way about us. I am ready to pick up the pieces of my life and move on. I really am anxious to find a new family that knows the meaning of a “forever” home. I want to be a happy dog again. I want to be able to play with my family. Most of all, I want a family that will give me lots and lots of love. I am crate trained and housebroken. I am quiet, playful and friendly. I promise that you will not be disappointed if you pick me as your new canine friend and companion. If you might be interested in adopting me, give O.S. a call and ask for me, Maxi. That will really put the wag back in my tail.
|
 |
Maxx - Male, cream horsecoat. He came from NYC
where he was a stray, and he know lives in York PA. |
 |
McKenzie- is a two month old,
fawn brushcoat. He was surrendered to a NYC shelter because
he needed surgery to repair an umbilical hernia and inguinal
hernias. Evidently the owner did not want to go to the
expense of having the surgeries done. McKenzie is an
adorable little guy and will feel much better as soon as he
receives his surgery. |
 |
Meeko - Male, black bearcoat. He is from the
Gloucester County NJ SPCA where he was surrendered by his
owner. He now lives in Dover PA. |

 |
Mei Chen (a.k.a. Jada II) - Hi! My name is
Jada. I am a one year old, black bearcoat.
I was a stray and was rescued from a shelter in PA. I had a big secret when I
arrived, but it was soon discovered at O.S. My secret was that I was quite
pregnant. Yep, I was carrying five puppies. My babies are now three weeks
old and they are all black like me. Their dad is some other kind of dog. He
never did tell me what he was, but he was a very handsome guy. He is sort of
like that dog in the movie called “Lady and the Tramp”. He is quite a guy.
Since I am only a year old, I really was not quite ready to be a mom, so my
pups are being cared for by two very nice foster moms. I am ready to go to a
home, but my pups will not be ready until they are about 12 weeks old. If you
would like a cute, little, fluffy bearcoat Pei,
give O.S. a call, or send them an email and ask for me,
Jada. I can hardly wait to have a nice family that will take good care
of me. Also, if you would be interested in one of my pups, let the people at
O.S. know and they will get in touch with you. Even though I was not really
crazy about motherhood, I do want them to have wonderful homes where they can
grow up enjoying life. |
 |
Merlin - Male, fawn horsecoat. He was from the NYC
shelter in Brooklyn where he was found stray, but he now
lives in Elizabethtown PA. |
 |
Merlin -Hi. My name is Merlin. I was one
of the 21 dogs taken from a condemned house. I am a male, black brushcoat
and I am about 1 to 1 1/2 years old. I am shy at first, but given a little
time, I become quite playful. I am a Mini-Pei and I weigh a mere 18 pounds.
I really will be very happy when I find my "forever home". If you think you
would like to give me a second chance at life, call the rescue and ask for
me, Merlin. It would really make my day! |
 |
Mia Female, black brushcoat. Mia came from a
shelter in New Jersey in 2000. She is now living in
Lancaster, PA with Jake, another one of our rescued
Shar-Pei. Thank you Dawn for opening your home to another
homeless Pei. |
 |
Mia Ling - Hello. My name is Mia. Gee, I
am really kinda shy and I don’t have a whole lot to say. I am a girl and I
am not very big. I am a cream brushcoat. My family brought me to the rescue
because they were moving into a smaller place. I am not sure what that means
because I am smaller than my owners. I sure hope they will fit in the new
place!! I am quite sad because they had me since I was a puppy and I will be
five years old on July 3. Gee, I will be homeless on my birthday! Now that
is a really sad thought. I am crate trained, housebroken, and very quiet. I
am timid until I get to know people, but I never growl or get the least bit
grumbly. I really want to find a family that will love me and keep me
forever. I never thought that I would end up in a rescue. Oh, I almost
forgot. I really do not like being around other dogs. I never had that kind
of experience, so I will need to be the only dog in the family. If you think
you would like to open your heart and home to a sad dog in need of love,
please get in touch with O.S. The best birthday present I could ever hope to
get would be a new home with loving people. That is what I will wish for
when I close my eyes tonight in hopes that it will come true. |
 |
Michiko - Female. Also from the Delaware
breeder. She is now known as Coco, and lives in Bechtelsville, PA |
 |
Mike - Male, fawn horsecoat. He was a stray
rescued in New York, and now lives in Leola, PA. |
 |
Miles - Male, red-fawn brushcoat. He is from New
Jersey and now lives in Lancaster PA. |
 |
Millhouse - Hi! My name is Millhouse and
I am a male, black brushcoat. I was a stray and I came from a shelter in New
Jersey. I am a really good boy and very friendly. Nothing really seems to
bother me and I am very easy going. I am housebroken and crate trained and I
very seldom fuss or bark. I am just patiently waiting for someone to call
and offer me a forever home. I really want to be someone's best friend and
loyal companion. If you think I sound like the dog for you, please give O.S.
a call. I promise to be a very good boy if given the chance. Bye for now! |
 |
Millie- Female, fawn horsecoat. Millie
was rescued from a shelter in Maryland in 2001. She is now enjoying a life
filled with lots of love and excellent care in Pittsburgh, PA. Thank you Ray
and Susan for giving Millie a wonderful new life. She will always be
grateful for your love and care. |
 |
Milton - Male, fawn horsecoat. He came from the
Delaware SPCA as a stray, and he now lives in Carlisle,
PA. |
 |
Minda - Female, red horsecoat. Minda was
rescued from a shelter in Harrisburg, PA in 2001. She is
now sharing her new life with another Shar-Pei, four cats
and two horses in Lovettsville, VA. Thank you so much
Yvonne and Steven for offering your love to Minda. |
 |
Ming II - Female, black brushcoat. Ming was an
owner surrender from Birdsboro, PA in 2000. She is now
living in York, PA. Thank you Crystal and Kevin for
adopting her. |
 |
Ming III – Hello, folks. My name is Ming.
I am a female, black horsecoat. I came from a shelter in PA and I was a
stray. I am a young dog, but no one is exactly sure of my age. I am a small
Shar-Pei and full of energy. I love to run around the yard. Then I stand on
my hind legs and peer through the door to let a volunteer know that I am
ready to come back in the house. I know that I will get a biscuit for being
a good girl and I just love biscuits. I am very friendly, playful and quite
well behaved. My hobbies are taking walks, chewing on bones, napping and
eating biscuits. If you are looking for a sweet Shar-Pei that just loves
life, call O.S. and ask for me, Ming. I will love you forever, if given the
chance. |
 |
Minnie (previously Wilma) - Female, fawn
horsecoat. Minnie came from a New Jersey shelter in 2000.
She is now in a wonderful home in Westmont, NJ. Thank you
so much David and Elizabeth for giving Minnie another
chance at life. |
|

Misha - Hello. My name is Misha. I was rescued from a
shelter in PA. I am a three year old, female, five point red
horsecoat. I was surrendered by my owners. They
said that they no longer wanted me because I have allergies. Well, gee, people
have allergies too but I don’t think that they are given away. I think they go
to the doctor and get pills to help them. The people at O.S. told me not to
worry and that I should try not to be too sad because they are going to find a
new family for me. I am a very nice dog. I like children, dogs and cats. I
like to take walks and drives in the car. I am presently in a foster home
because there was no room for me at the rescue. I am being a very good girl and
I am spending my days with three other Shar-Pei in the foster home. If you
would like to meet me, just get in touch with Operation Scarlet. You can email
them or give them a call. If I knew I had a home with a family that will love
me, I would be the happiest dog in the whole wide world. - Misha |
 |
Misty - Phillipsburg, NJ |
 |
Mitchell - Male, sable bearcoat. Mitchell came from
a Maryland shelter in 2001. He is now living in a wonderful home in
Lititz, PA with another Shar-Pei named Koko. Koko is also an O.S.
dog. Thank you Melissa and Rick for opening your home again to
another Shar-Pei in need. |
 |
Mocha - Lancaster, PA |
 |
Mollie - Hi, everyone! My name is Mollie. I am a female, fawn horsecoat and I am just five months old. My owners gave me up because I had
mites. Instead of taking me to the doctor to treat the mites, they kept me in a
crate in the basement. If that was not bad enough, they then decided it would be
best to keep me outside. I was very sad because I wanted to be indoors with my
family. Now that I am at O.S., I am being treated for mites and I am already
responding. I look and feel so much better. What I am really wishing very hard
for is a family that will love me and give me lots of good care. Puppies should
not have to live in a basement or outdoors. We have too much love to give to a
family and it really hurts us to be separated from them. I am hoping to find my
"forever home" very soon. If you think you might like to have a bouncy little
Pei pup, call O.S. and ask for me, Mollie.
|
 |
Molly - Female, black brush. She is from the
Chester County SPCA where she was turned in as a stray.
She now lives in Clifton Heights, PA. |
 |
Mo Mo Chun - Hello. My name is Mo Mo Chun, but people call me Mo for
short. I am a 1 1/2 year old, female, fawn horsecoat. I sure was down on my luck
recently. I got lost and was picked up by the dog warden and was taken to a
shelter in New York City. I was wearing identification so I was not too worried.
I knew the officer would contact my family. Well, I was right on that. My family
was notified, but boy, was I shocked to find out that my family said they did
not want to come and get me. I loved them, protected them and patiently waited
for them to come home each day. I faithfully gave them my warm greeting every
time they returned home.
|
 |
Mooshu - Male, fawn bruscoat, 4 years old. He is
from Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia, and was
surrendered because his family moved. He now lives in
East Stroudsburg, PA. |
 |
Monty - Male, black brushcoat. Monty came from a
Philadelphia shelter in 2000. He is now living very
happily in Trumbull, CT. Thank you Dorothy for traveling
the distance to PA to offer your love and home to Monty. |
 |
Mopsy - Hi, everyone! My name is Mopsy
and I am one of the four puppies that came from a shelter in WV. I am just
eight weeks old and I am a female chocolate horsecoat mix. My mom is a
Shar-Pei but no one seems to know what my daddy was. I along with my two
brothers and sister did not get off to a very good start in this life. At
just eight weeks of age we are homeless. Puppies need lots of love and good
care and we are hoping that we will have all of that very soon. Our brother
Slate is very lucky in that he has been chosen. I am very happy for him.
Hopefully I will be able to say the same thing very soon. If you think I am
just the cutest thing that you have ever seen and would like to offer your
love to me, give O.S. a call and ask for me, Mopsy. |
 |
Morris - Hi, everyone! My name is Morris.
I am a male, chocolate horsecoat and I am about two years old. I was a stray
and came from a shelter in PA. I am one of the friendliest Shar-Pei you
would ever want to meet. I like dogs, cats and children. In fact, there
really isn't anything that I don't like. I am crate trained and housebroken
and I like to ride in the car. I am also a very good boy for vet exams.
People tend to chuckle when they look at me because I have a very big mushy
face and I snort like a pig. Oh, by the way, I guess I had better tell you
that I really snore too. If you would like to have a fun loving dog as your
best buddy, please give the rescue a call and ask for me, Morris. You would
make me one very happy guy! |
 |
Mr. Woo - Hello. My name is Mr. Woo. I am a very dignified male, lilac
horsecoat. I am the first lilac Shar-Pei that O.S. rescued and everyone says I
am quite a handsome guy. I came from a shelter in PA. My owners took me to the
shelter because they had two other dogs and a baby and did not have time for me.
That made me very sad because I really liked my home and I thought it was going
to be my "forever home". I am no longer sad because as of this writing I have
been chosen by a wonderful couple who have a female Shar-Pei. I will not only
have a new and wonderful home, but a Shar-Pei friend as well. I just hope all
the other homeless kids on this page get a home as quickly as I did.
|
 |
Mufasa - Male, red brushcoat. Mufasa was rescued
from a shelter in Lancaster, PA in 2000. He is now living
very happily in West Hartford, CT. Thank you Holly and
Jeff for giving Mufasa your love and a wonderful home. |
 |
Muneca - Female, cream horsecoat. Muneca
came from a shelter in NJ in 2002. She is now living the "good life" in
Owings, MD. Thank you so much Sandra and Russell for opening your hearts and
home to sweet Muneca. She will always be grateful for your kindness. |
 |
Murphy- Male, red horsecoat. Murphy came from a shelter
in NYC and arrived at O.S. in 2000. He is now living in
West Hazleton, PA with three other Shar-Pei including Pebbles.
Murphy had been hit by a car and arrived at the rescue in
critical condition. A front leg needed to be amputated,
but he has fully recovered and is now living a very
wonderful life. Thanks Ted and Alan for giving Murphy a
second chance at life. |
 |
Mu Shu - Male, chocolate bearcoat. Mu Shu came
from a shelter in Harrisburg, PA in 2000. He is now
living in Easton, PA. Thank you Dawn and Harry for giving
him a very good home. |
 |
Mu Shu II aka Blossom II - Female, fawn
horsecoat. Mu Shu came from a shelter in PA in 2002. She is now having a
wonderful time in her new home in Smyrna, DE. She is spending her days with
another Shar-Pei and two children. Thank you Sandra and Scott for opening
your hearts and home to little Mu Shu. She will always be grateful for your
kindness. |
 |
Myra - Hello. My name is Myra. I am one
of the 21 Shar-Pei that was taken out of the condemned house in October
2002. I am a female, black brushcoat and I am about 1 1/2 to 2 years old. I
am somewhat shy but I do like to meet people and I really love to be
cuddled. I miss my Shar-Pei friends. They all went their separate ways, but
the good thing is that they are all in very good and loving homes. We
canines are willing to give so much love and devotion and it really hurts us
when we are not taken care of. One of our strengths is that we have a very
strong ability to forgive. Another is that we would never abandon our
family. I was one of the lucky ones in the group of 21. I was picked up by a
very nice lady who is a member of the rescue. She offered to foster me until
a home could be found for me. Guess what! My foster home became my "forever
home" and my foster mom is now my very own mom. Thanks O.S. for saving me
and my Shar-Pei friends. You have made all of us very happy and we will
never, never forget what you did for us. Love to all, Myra. |
  |
Mytie - Hi! My name is Mytie. I am a very handsome
(if I must say so myself), one year old, milk
chocolate horsecoat. I am a really mighty
boy – I guess that is how I got the name. I came from NYC and did not
have such a good life. I was surrendered to the shelter by my owners
because they said “I jumped off a rooftop”. Well, let me tell you there
is something to be said about “Leaping Tall Buildings in a Single Bound”.
I do think I will leave that stunt to Superman. I was limping for weeks,
but I am just fine now. I was then adopted from the shelter, but in no
time at all I was picked up by the dog catcher because I was on the run.
Not only was I on the run, I had a dart in my backside. I do believe
jumping off the roof top was less painful than a dart in the rear. Well,
after all those adventures I am now sitting comfortably at Operation
Scarlet. Not bad here at all. Regular meals, soft bed, long walks, bones
to chew on and there is even music playing. I like it here, but I am
really ready for that “forever” home I have heard about. I am SO READY!
If you think I could possibly be the boy for you, won’t you just go to the
phone and give O.S. a call. I promise to be a very good boy. No more
jumping. No more running away. I am done living on the “wild side”. |
