Nacho aka Avalanche - Hi! My name is Nacho. I am an apricot dilute brushcoat and I am about three years old. I am one of the 21 Shar-Pei that was taken from a condemned house. I am very friendly and I get along very well with other dogs. I along with my other canine friends were badly neglected. All of us were infested with fleas and of course had tapeworms too. We are all starting to feel much better because Operation Scarlet saw to it that we got all the required medical attention. Ivy II, who is pictured on this page, was my best friend. We shared kennels beside each other. She is a very lucky girl because she was chosen and went to her new home. I miss her but I am also glad that her life will be much better. Now I am sitting here patiently waiting to be chosen too. If you are looking for a very well behaved and friendly boy, call the rescue and ask for me, Nacho.
Nala - Female, black brushcoat. She was surrendered because her owner was moving from Levittown, PA. She is now living in Moreno Valley, CA.
Nia - Hello. My name is Nia. I am a female, red brushcoat and I am about 1 year old. I became a stray in July and a family offered me a home. Unfortunately, they recently dropped me off at a shelter in PA without even giving a reason. I am an extremely sweet little girl and I like children and cats. I was really heartbroken because I thought I had found my forever home, but I guess I was wrong. I am very petite, I like to sit on laps and I give lots of wet slurpy kisses. My wish for this Thanksgiving would be to find a family who will love me and consider me a true family member. I just don't want to be thrown away again. If you think I might be exactly what you would like in a canine friend, call the rescue and ask for me, Nia. Happy Thanksgving, everyone!
NiyaHello.  My name is Niya.  I am a female, chocolate brushcoat and I am about one year old.  I came from a shelter in NYC.  My owners took me to the shelter because they could not afford my eye surgery.  My eyes were really bothering me.  I could not even open them the whole way.  The lashes kept digging into my eyes every time I tried to blink.  Well, let me tell you.  When I arrived at O.S., the volunteers really gave me the once over.  A chart came out with my name on it and all kinds of medical info was recorded.  I could tell these people really mean business.  Two days later I went to the doctor for an exam and was promptly whisked into surgery.  Boy, do I feel better.  I do need to wear a funny looking thing on my head that looks like a lampshade, but that’s ok, it is for my own good.  Now, let me tell you a little about myself.  I like dogs, cats and children.  I lived with all of them.  I am crate trained, housebroken and I walk nicely on a leash.  I also travel well in the car.  I am a really good girl if I must say so myself.  I am a very happy dog, but one thing I am missing is a family to call my very own.  If I sound like the kind of dog you would like to have as your best friend, give O.S. a call.  Remember, ask for Niya.  That’s me!!!!
Norton - Male, fawn horsecoat. He has been obedience trained and earned his CGC at Nationals. He was rescued from an all breed rescue in Butler PA and now lives in Myerstown PA.
Nutmeg - Female, fawn horsecoat from the Humane Society of Berks County in Reading. She was dropped off during the night and placed in the holding pen. She is living in Mohnton and likes to wear straw hats with flowers.
Otis V - Male, black brushcoat. Otis came from a shelter in Easton, PA. He is now living with another Shar-Pei in Reading, PA. Thank you Michael for giving him a wonderful home.
Ozzie Ozzie - Male, fawn horsecoat. He came from the Oswego Animal Shelter in NY in 2000. He was a stray, but now he has a good home in Lebanon, PA along with 2 other O.S. Shar-Pei. Many thanks Lori and Fred for offering your love to a "special needs" dog.
Pai Lei - Female, red horsecoat. She came from a shelter in NY City where she had lived with a family of four. They said they didn't have time for her. She was formerly known as Maxine.
Panda - Female, sable brushcoat. Formerly known as Wrinkles, she now lives in Schwenksville PA.
Peaches I - Female, 8 years old. She returned from her original placement, and now has been adopted into a new home in Oxford, PA.
Peaches III - Female cream dilute brushcoat. She is a stray from Marietta, Georgia. She now lives in Rockville, MD.
Pearl - Hi, My name is Pearl.  I am a 1 year old female horsecoat.  I was a stray in NYC.  Now I am at Operation Scarlet hoping to soon find a family who will love me and give me good care.  I am really a very good girl.  If you are looking for a cute little girl Pei for your very own, give O.S. a call and ask for "Pearl".  That's me!
Pebbles- Female, fawn brushcoat. She was found as a stray in Georgia, and now lives in West Hazleton, PA with three other Shar-Pei including Murphy.
Peggy – Hello. My name is Peggy.  I am a petite, female, cream dilute brushcoat. I am a bit shy, but once I know you will be kind to me, I like to give kisses and have my ears rubbed. I came from a shelter in PA. In fact, my two puppies – Serenity and Tai – were rescued from the same shelter last fall. They are both doing just fine in their homes, thanks to Operation Scarlet. I was very sad when I heard that my nine month old babies were going to a shelter. I wanted them to start their lives in homes with responsible and caring people.  What makes me feel so much better is that the nice people at O.S. told me they are both doing fine. I had an idea I would be thrown away too because I overheard some talk about there being “too many dogs” where I was living. Well, now here I am in need of a home, too.  If you are looking for a sweet little Shar-Pei to love and care for, please contact O.S. I will be patiently waiting for that right person to say – “Peggy, Let’s Go home!”

Pepper Anne - Female, fawn horsecoat.  Pepper Anne was abandoned by her owners in PA and arrived at O.S. in 2002.  She is now enjoying a very wonderful life filled with love and excellent care.  She is also enjoying the companionship of a Shar-Pei friend.  Thank you Yvonne and Glenn for giving Pepper Anne a new beginning.

Persha - Female, red bearcoat. Persha came from Animal Control in New Jersey in 2001. She is now living very comfortably with another Shar-Pei in Duncannon, PA. Thank you Chuck and Janet for again welcoming a Shar-Pei in need to your home.
Petunia - Female, fawn horsecoat. She was a private surrender, and was previously known as Glory. She now lives in York PA.
Pierce – Hi, everyone! My name is Pierce. I am a very playful, outgoing and energetic guy. I am about one year old and I am a male, fawn horsecoat. I came from a shelter in NJ and I had been picked up as a stray. Yep, just one year old and lost. I love to go for walks and I really enjoy getting attention from everyone I meet. I also am a very good traveler in the car. And dog biscuits. Boy, do I like dog biscuits! I have told you what I really like, but now let me tell you what I don’t like. I don’t like being “homeless”! It is such a sad and lonely feeling. The nice people at the rescue said that I will find a family soon. I sure hope so. I want to spend my days with a family that loves me and likes to play with me. If you are looking for a really fun lovin’ guy, then I am the dog for you. I am going to cross my paws tonight and wish really hard that a family will soon come to the rescue and say, “We want Pierce”.
Ping Pong - Hi, my name is Ping Pong. I'm a rusty black brushcoat with flower markings, and I'm 5 years old. All I remember is that I had some trauma in my life and then a person called an O.S. Rep came and rescued me from a bad place. My foster parents soon realized that I had "issues" with strange men--and I could be pretty up-front about it. Since I was already settled in with my foster parents, they decided to make plans to adopt me. Yippeee! That is what I was hoping for.  My foster Mom calls me a diamond in the rough. Although, when I'm being a little too feisty, she says, "Don't get too comfortable, buddy!  Until you have the adoption papers in your paws--you're still in foster care." (She's just kidding, I think.) Rumor has it that I will be adopted in about a week. I know I am going to be on my very best behavior because I sure don’t want to mess up a good thing.
Pooh Bear - Male, red fawn bearcoat. He was surrendered by the same people who had Bo Lo. He now lives in Mechanicsburg PA.
Pookie - Hi, everyone! My name is Pookie. I am a female, fawn horsecoat and I am between 2 and 3 years of age. A nice lady saved me when she saw me being pushed out of my owner's pickup truck. I must say that was the worst day of my life.
Pookie II – Hello, everyone! My name is Pookie. I am a female, black brushcoat and I am between 2 and 3 years of age. I was rescued from a NYC shelter. My owners took me to the shelter because they were moving and the landlord said I was not allowed to move in. Boy, does that hurt. I am a wonderfully well behaved dog. I am housebroken, crate trained, and very quiet. I am also very sweet and I love to give everyone I meet slurpy kisses. I just had my eyelids repaired. They were rolling in which caused a lot of discomfort. I also tore my cruceate ligament. I will be getting that surgically repaired this coming week. After that is taken care of, I will be ready for a new home. If you think I would be just right for your family, please give O.S. a call. You would put a wag back in my tail, if you say you want me for your friend.. Just ask for me, Pookie. I am sitting right by the phone hoping the next call will be for me.
Popeye Popeye - Male, fawn horsecoat. Popeye came from a shelter in Georgia in 2000. He is now living in Stanhope, New Jersey. Thank you Chris for adopting him.
Pork Chops - Female, cream horsecoat. She came from Summerdale Pa in September of 1999 and now has a wonderful home living with four Shar-Pei friends in York PA.

Porky – Hi! My name is Porky. I am a male, red brushcoat and I am about five years old.

Precious II - Hello. My name is Precious. I am a 2 year old, female, black brushcoat mix. I was rescued from a shelter in Maryland. Unfortunately for me, my family moved away and left me in the backyard. I was all alone and very worried because there was no one to take care of me. I am very playful and sweet. I can be a bit shy with men at first, but after a short period of time, I warm up to them.
