Rachelle – Hello. My name is Rachelle. I
am a pretty little black brushcoat female Shar-Pei. I am between 2 and 3
years old. I came from a shelter in NJ. Sorry my pic is not up as yet, but I
was in surgery the day pictures were taken. I had to have my eyelids
repaired. I had something called entropion. All I know is I was very
uncomfortable because my eyelashes kept scratching my eyes. Now I feel much
better. I was living a very happy life in NJ until one day I ran away and
could not find my way home. In case you don’t know, Shar-Pei have a bad
habit of doing that. You see, we like to explore, but then discover that we
do not know how to get back home. Well, luck was with me because I was
picked up by animal control and was taken to a shelter. My owners were
notified that I was found. Boy, was I glad I was wearing I.D. Well, part of
the story was good, but then came the bad news. My family did not want me
back!!!! Oh, no! What was I going to do? No home. No family. I heard other
dogs at the shelter talking about being homeless and I was really getting
scared. Now comes more good news! A very nice lady arrived at the shelter.
She said she was with Operation Scarlet and that they save Shar-Pei.
Whooppee! She bailed me out and off we went to Lancaster, PA. Now I am
having a ball. I go for walks, get yummy treats, and I even have nice clean
blankets to sleep on. Now all I really need is a kind family to say they
want to give me love, good care and a home to call my very own. I know my
story is a bit long, but I really, really want a family again. If you think
you would like to meet me, please give O.S. a call. Just ask for me,
Rachelle. My bags are packed and I am all ready to go. |

Rain -
Hello. My name is Rain. I am
a female, black horsecoat. I am
approximately two years old and I was a stray. I was rescued from a shelter in
PA by Diane and Robb Ford. They named me Rain because the day they transported
me to O.S. it was raining buckets. It was a really nasty day to be traveling.
Thank you Robb and Diane for braving the horrible weather. I am a very calm,
gentle, laid back Shar-Pei. I hardly ever bark, I am housebroken and crate
trained and extremely obedient. Miss Dawn tells everyone that I am one of the
best behaved Shar-Pei she has ever met. I am very relieved to be at O.S.
because I have my own bed, my own food bowls, and even my own chew bone. I do
not have to worry anymore about finding a safe place to sleep at night. It was
very scary being on my own. I was hanging out at a truck stop and a nice lady
kept seeing me hovering around the dumpsters. One day she put me in her car and
took me to the local animal shelter. That is where I was staying when Diane and
Robb came to my rescue. If you are looking for a very quiet, gentle, easy going
dog, give O.S. a call and ask for me, Rain. Don’t let the name fool you – I
will add lots of sunshine to your life if you choose me. Thanks for listening
to my story. - Rain |

Delaware and he now lives in Mount Penn, PA. |
 |
Reba - Hello, everyone. My name is Reba.
I am a female, black brushcoat and I came from a shelter in New Jersey. I
was taken from my home because my owner was no longer living at the house
and my owners relatives did not want to take care of me. I am very shy and
quiet and quite the lady. I am quite confused about losing my home and my
owner and being transferred first to a shelter and now to Operation Scarlet.
I am being quite patient with the changes in my life, but will really be
happy to settle in to a home environment once again with a family that will
love me and give me really good care. |

Romeo
-
Hi!
My name is Romeo. I'm 8 years young, I'm a chocolate horsecoat, and I
need a home...again. I was very confused when my owners took me to the
shelter--I didn't know what I did wrong. They said that they didn't have
time for me and that they had too many animals--but why did it have to
be me? I'm in foster care right now because I was...now how did my
foster Mom phrase it? Oh yeah...scuzzy! My face was all dried,
cracked, and peeling; it was very uncomfortable. And my fur, well it's
sort of a yellow color right now--you see, my former owners left me out
in the sun all summer and I got sunbleached and sunburnt. With lots of
care, my face is all better and my foster Mom says I'm beautiful now. So
I think I'm ready for a family. I have just one wish though..."This will
be my third family, and I'm not getting any younger...Could this one be
forever please?" |

was a stray and I was rescued from a shelter in New Jersey. I am
approximately two years old and I am a male, red fawn brushcoat. I have been
told by the vet and the volunteers at O.S. that I am quite a handsome boy. I
am also very friendly and playful. My life is not so good right now because
I do not have a family to take me for walks and play with me. I really would
be very happy if I had a forever home. If I sound like the kind of canine
friend you are looking for, please give a call to the rescue and ask for me,
Rufus! |
